This is my first attempt at making a wooden toy
I am pretty pleased with it….for using scraps laying around.

Great job. I do wood cars for my son and was thinking of building him a rig in the next couple years. Did you do turn your own tires or did you get them from some place like Rockler?
I got them from craft-wood.com

Cool toy
Thanks……the next one I make…I’ll pay more attention to the grain direction. …and a little bit more time than the day and a half it took me..lol

Absolutely beautiful work!

Very nice work, even with the grain direction issue you mentioned. I think the different grain direction on the hood vs. the cab adds another interesting element to the overall project and I like the crosshatching look on the sides. I’ve been careful about this in my projects, but having seen your truck, I’m considering changing up the grain on purpose on future projects.
Thank you…..I have since tried a different grain direction. ….your absolutely right….this is a very nice detail.
