Walnut and Pewter Plates

I wanted to try mixed media. I turned walnut plates and cut a grove approx. 3/16" deep. I undercut the groove (dovetail style) to hold the molten pewter. After the pewter cooled, I turned it flush with a carbide turning tool

Nice job. I lik r mixing materials, textures, and color

These are diffrent, I like them. How well do you think the two materials will stay together over time. It must have been difficuly to get the sizes exact to fit together. Nicely done!

These look great but doesn’t pewter have lead in it?

Modern pewter is a tin based alloy…no lead.
