When I started this hobby (for me at least), I shelled about $600 for a festool track saw. and another $300 for a jigsaw. I loved them. Then I got a better tablesaw. I have not touched the track saw since. I did go through a lot of ply, I just have the store cut them in 2 or 3 pieces so I can fit them in the car.
When I built my pergola, I figured the track saw was totally useless. I wish I never bought either one. Mybe you will see them on craig’s list one of these day.
