I love ZZ Top, Gibbons is still kicking, Dusty Hill is gone (great bassist!)
The early Top is on my shop play list, Blue Jeans Blues, Jesus Just Left Chicago, etc.

Can't argue about the "guitar army" with three of the Souths best playing "Green Grass and High Tides" (The Outlaws).
Check out a video, their finger actions make my hands hurt just watching. 
Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) also has a bunch of great solo albums. Very familiar sound from that steel National.
