You might try soaking them in a rust remover, then see how they cut. Usually brad point bits are better than the twist bits, but a lot depends on the cutting edge. If you have tiny sharpening files you can even correct the cutting edges.

If nothing else, they’re disposable. If they don’t work well on fine carpentry, use them for rough projects and toss them when they break.
