Bear cams are getting active again

Bears are showing up, and there are Salmon in the water. Bear cams, or watching bears get fat.

I had been watching the Decorah Eagle cams, but the Eaglet has fledged from the nest, and is mostly gone adventuring now, just in time for the Bears at Katmai to come back to the river, specifically the area around Brooks Falls.

i love watching the bears catch salmon. hell their better fisherman than people !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Just adding on to the "Explore" thread line. The Bald Eagles in Decorah Iowa NORTH have eggs in their nest.

For a while it's a kinda tedious egg sitting, just watching a nesting pair of Bald Eagles doing their parenting duty. Here in a short while, and hopefully they have 2 Eaglets, then it gets to be something seeing them go from fuzz balls, to flying hunters.

Egg #1: 2/15/24 @2:12 PM CT
Egg #2: 2/18/24 @2:49 PM CT
Hatching expected in 35-39 days

The Bears will be back at the falls end of June, beginning of July to munch of Salmon.

I love Nature, and it's interesting to me to see it happening via cams. You get to see things that not too long ago, would require quite the commitment of time, and money, and you would still probably be in the wrong place most of the time.
I first thought the title of this thread was beer cans
I am laughing, almost fell outa my chair.

Confucius says, a wise Man knows when to put the beer can down.......

But how many cans of beer do they have?
Dayummmmm Pottzie, you live in paradise if you are near that kind of view. Beautiful, must be one of those Eagles ya read about in the celebrity magazines.

Ahhhnold Eaglenegger

Corelz :-)))))))) killing me.
Larry I added that Eagle cam to my links page. Can't wait to see 3 of those fuzz bombs all together, it should be a riot.

Larry, I am hooked on those Big Bear Eagles. Can't wait to see 3 fuzz bombs at the same time.
Well evidently Mamma Eagle at Big Bear had some issues and she is still sitting on unhatched eggs, past the date she was expected to hatch them out. Frozen? Infertile? Nobody knows, just saying unlikely there will be Eaglet's.

Meanwhile back at Decorah North they only had 2 eggs, but now have 2 little fuzz bombs. If you scroll the page down, there are pics and short vids of them. Hungry little grubbers eat like crazy, and POOP every which way. In just a few weeks they will appear larger than Mom and Dad, the new feathers are all poofy, and air filled, so they have much higher loft then Mom and Dads flatter more mature feathers. Anyhow their growth spurt is amazing. Check in once in a while, and be amazed. Soon enough they fly off, and are done with the nest.

the other Decorah site, either listed a fish hatchery, or just Decorah doesn't have a nesting pair of Eagles this year. Instead they have Canada Geese nesting in a tree, talk about different.
I haven't been keeping a close eye on the bears yet this year, but they are back at Brooks Falls, Katmai, Ak, and the Salmon are running. Currently no Bears at the falls hardly, because they had a feast today, and are asleep. Lots of Bears earlier, but not so many fish. A true feast or famine thing.
It's a good night for both plenty of fish, and for Bears at the falls. Sometimes it's like you need to show them where to stand though.
Looks like the Salmon continue to cooperate. A few Bears at 2:30PM EST. Probably a lot of full bears sleeping if the fish have been offering themselves up like they have been. Still not seeing a lot of bears up on the lip of the falls, which is the spot to be as the fish make their leap upward. Though if there are that many fish around the entire river is likely to be swimming.
Early in the evening, about 6:45 EST, plenty of Bears, and a lot of Jumping Fish. At this rate these Bears are gonna be fat quickly.
