Ortur LM3 Woes Replace with xTool 20 Watt

I have had my Ortur LM3 for almost six months and able to use it only two of those. Here is a list of the issues I have faced.

1) The side rails did not have the bracket for adjusting the tension. It took weeks to get thru to Ortur and get replacements.
2) The replacement rails were not correct and need replacing a second time.
3) the main large plug into the front rail would not connect. It seems that the connector pushes pins back in and you need to carefully fix things. Of course, the problem happens again periodically.
4) There was no key supplied with my unit and took weeks to get one from China.
5) Replacement parts are almost impossible to get and takes forever or longer.
6) Currently having some kind of problem with the x_axis, either tension or something else. I take it apart and get it to work and back to the same thing again after not too long.
7) Orturn had some very good technical support but they got rid of them.

So, I am very frustrated with it.  I no longer have any faith in Ortur and I do not want to spend more time fixing the LM3 than using it.

So, I am thinking about dumping it and buying a new laser and currently looking at the xTool 20 watt ones. I would really like to hear others experiences with the xTool lasers such as problems and technical support. Or, if someone has suggestions on another brand, I would be grateful.   I likely will be selling it or parting it out as the laser module works great.  The used laser market has quite a few for sale and likely will not even be able to sell the LM3.

That’s a real bummer Birdseye. My Ortur has been pretty easy, but that’s the deal with chineseum stuff isn't it? One works great, another is a complete disaster. I don’t have much faith in Ortur since their shakeup either. I’m just planning to ride this LM3 until it scatters then I’ll move on.

For what little it’s worth, I’ve heard great things about xTool in general. They were my original plan before I saw the Ortur stuff and how much cheaper it was. Since I was brand new to lasers, I didn’t want to go too big up front and find out I wasn’t going to use it. I’ve never used an xTool, but they’d be on my (very) short list if the LM3 goes splat.

Good luck!!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
