I really like this chalice even though it might hurt my beak if I were to drink from it.

Does anyone here have advice on how to make this interesting piece?

if thats carved from wood, it's gonna be a lot of tedious work. prtty cool looking though !

Aside from years of carving, perhaps grow a bonsai  tree in a chalice mold, then kill it and let the leaves and bark fall off?
It’s probably turned, then carved and somewhere around a couple hundred hours.
Go for it.
yeah thats my guess too. first turn the shape then spend a lot of time with a dremel or rotary tool.

Thanks for the advice guys. I’ll get right on it. I’ll see you with the finished piece in about 10 years.

DrQuackner..... Apparently this was was turned, cut, and carved from the trunk of an Ash tree.
Good luck!

I am guessing that they use a dremel with various burrs to carve it after turning.

--Nathan, TX. Hire the lazy man. He may not do as much work but that's because he will find a better way.

If anyone here can do it it's Dennis Z.
I think a cnc lathe would do most of the work,at least the outside.

Hey, you don't know me, but you don't like me ... Buck Owens

Thanks Mr Rick. I saw it on Pinterest but you zeroed in on the creator. Yup Pottz I don’t think I’ll be giving up 10 years to carve that mug.

Corelz your right Dennis Z would be the guy.

Gary and Hairy thanks for the advice. I’ll have to buy a lathe and a CNC machine.

Splinter. I was on my way to buy a bonsai plant until MrRick showed me the web page of the guy and girl who makes these goblets.  I was thinking about using silly string.

Lazyman I do have a rotating tool but need a lathe.
