55 Years of a Woodworking Journey

Hi everyone.  A comment from Tony a couple of days ago got me to thinking about my lifetime of woodworking and where I started compared to where I am today.  Since every one of us here on this site has their own unique story ,I don't know if a Blog tracing my journey, which is probably no better or worse than any one elses,  would serve any great purpose but I thought that just maybe it would help others realize that the work we do today will lead us to a more refined outcome later.  Please don't misunderstand my thoughts here.  I do not see myself as a great woodworker or as some symbol of refined merit.  I am just looking to share a journey of my life that may in some way help others to see they have a long and ever improving road ahead if they are interested.  So, I ask for your thoughts and input on this topic idea.  I don't have all the answers and my way of doing things is not the only way.  I only want to perhaps inspire someone to push forward and achieve what ever they seek.  If you deem this too pedantic or not worth the time, please let me know.  I want to share not burden.  I would hope that I might in some way inspire.

And I also know that this may just be my dumbest ideal yet.
It could be quite interesting PapaDave. A blog would be the way to go. You could set it up chronologically or by technique or by project styles.
not a dumb idea at all papa, i think it will be a great way to inspire beginning woodworkers. as i look back on my own journey of about 55 years i made a lot of firewood getting here 🤣

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

i do feel i have improved some im just not sure bout last model if its new shop or what i hope i can get back to where i was and if any have ?s just ask me and if i dont know someone will i didnt get serious until 30 or after even 35 maybe

*TONY ** Denver * ALWAYS REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN

I think this would be wonderful PD!

My dad was a "utility" woodworker making shelves, benches, etc. with just a small 8" TS (that I have in storage).
Uncle was a master carver, but I spent my young days just doing simple utility stuff. Lots of ww classes in JHS kept my interest going, but not until about 30 years ago did I have the money and space to get serious.
I am just looking to share a journey of my life that may in some way help others to see they have a long and ever improving road ahead if they are interested.
I would be interested in reading about your journey (and others as well). I learn so much from reading project details - even if that specific project isn't one I might attempt, I can pick up techniques or just inspiration.

(And how awesome to have been woodworking for 55 years)
