I am new to this site and have been wood working for 3 or 4 years now and it seems that I am always looking for that next tool! So I am looking towards 2 new tools now, A CNC router and a drum sander! Expensive tools to say the least! Just wondering if anyone here uses a CNC and if there are any suggestions for someone like me as to where to look for a machine like this?

Craigs list for a used one. Then google for new.

I would so love a CNC router/carver, but I think the drum (surfacing) sander would come first, for me anyway.
All the best. Looking forward to seeing your work.
Happy Wooding!

I have both a CNC and a drum sander. The sander definitely gets more use, but the CNC is more fun.
The CNC I have is good once you get it set up, but can be a bit tedious calibrating and such. Here’s a link to what I’ve got.
I don’t use one but the bed size and the power of the stepper motors will be something I will carefully consider.
The hold down system is also a consideration.
