Hi all, I have a Craftsman 16" scroll saw. A guy at Woodcraft said I should get a conversion kit, so I can use pinless blades. Somewhere, I saw a recommendation for a specific brand, but now I can’t find it. Can anyone here make a recommendation for a kit, and where to get it? Thanks,
Kevin
Olson sells a conversion kit that says it will fit a craftsman 16inch direct drive saw, and allows it to use plain and pinned for $32.64. I have a Dewalt so I can’t recommend this particular kit.

Thanks. I had read, somewhere that there is a better version than the Olson kit, but I don’t know what it was. The reviews on the Olson are split 50/ 50. Some say it works well, and others say it is really hard to install, and only barely works. I was hoping somebody would reply with a solution.
Try pozsgai designs. They have a decent looking system I’m going to try on my 15" delta
Kevin I have a Craftsman scroll saw and mine does both. You better check to see if yours does too. Where the pin type goes in see if you have a screw with a knob. That knob loosens up to install the pinless.
Let me know if you have the same thing. If you do you don’t need anything. I would look in your manual. If you don’t have one you can find the manual online to your model

RevRuss, thanks, I’ll check there.
Jeff, I was hoping that would be the case with mine, but it’s not. Thanks for the info.

If you have the 16" craftsman professional that has the upper arm that pivots to change the angle rather then the table there is no kit. I have one of these and looked for one a couple years back, the issue is that there would be no way to tighten the fully enclosed bottom. Best I concluded was installing just the upper of an aftermarket kit and snipping the pins off the top of the blades to do smaller, inside work. That seemed lik e too much effort over just getting a different saw.
Mine is 1 that is listed for the Pozsgai Designs kit.
Hey call that customer help line thats in my scroll saw picture and ask them. Lol
