The Good ole' Days

I remember joining Martins original site in or about 2009,  maybe about 1500 members?
Used to be some good times and some good people.
Beener is someone that I always remember,  probably because of his life struggles.

Kind of like going to a high school reunion and talking about the past.
Anybody have any memories they would like to contribute?

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

Dave R.  was a big inspiration for me.
He pretty much got me started, and taught me SketchUp.
He would even call me to help me through problems.
I use it almost everyday,  it changed how I approach not only building jobs in my shop but bidding and working with customers.

I owe him a lot.

i missed out on the good ol days having joined about a year or so after martin sold the forum. from what ive read and heard he did a lot of real cool stuff. but im here now.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

There were several jocks that I learned a lot from and inspired me along the way. GaryK from Lindale, TX was one, we met up a few times. I remember Beener and his struggles out in CO. Todd Clippinger always offered up good advice. Scrollgirl (Sheila Landry) posted patterns and advice daily. I just cleaned out my old messages last week and they brought back a lot of memories.

Yes, Todd very well had his act together. "Share the Knowledge" I believe he coined that phrase on Lj's
Sheila and Ellen (I think Ellen is still around)
Gary was a buddy,  and another good buddy was Renners

Same with me regarding Dave R. though outside of LJ as I joined circa pottzy time.
He pretty much got me when I started to learn and taught me a few neat tricks in SketchUp.  He (Dave R., not pottzy who can't even spell SketchUp without a tele-prompter) was a big inspiration for me with our TeamViewer sessions... and I live in Australia...
pottzy, I even dedicated a puzzle to him... well stole it from him.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Does anyone know whatever happened to Beaner.....last I heard he was brandishing a gun on his porch and the SWAT team was called.....

Mike
