I have been a tin smith- 'tin puncher' since March 2000. Its something that I love doing- Designing custom sizes, and custom designs for customers all over the world (mostly North America) is such a rewarding career.
I use raw metals, from tin plated sheet steel to copper and brass. Doing the distressing process and making them look antique, can be a challenge from one batch of metal to another. Then the designing and adapting design to fit custom sizes, sometimes takes longer than punching them. I do all the finishing touches as well, brushing/buffing the punched tin panels to smooth out the finish and clear coat with lacquer them to seal them.
