I have been interested in woodworking since I was a kid, when I used to get old dressers and paint or restore them and make them usable again. In 1986, I started having some problems with my legs and had to stop participating in sports, so I, along with a friend started making stained glass windows. I did this for several years, and really enjoyed it, but by 1998 or so, I started turning my garage into my woodworking shop. I haven’t done much stained glass since.
I started making boxes of all kinds, jewelery boxes, tooth fairy boxes, bandsaw boxes, you name it, I was addicted to boxes. Along with boxes, I built some furniture items, but that is not the direction that i wanted to go, but I will still build furniture if I need to. I started making cutting boards and I still make cutting boards as you will see when you go to my website. There is a certain satisfaction in making items that people use in their everyday lives.
I continued adding tools to my shop, and if I say so myself, I have a pretty impressive shop.Sometime around 2006, I bought a lathe and started turning pens.I have turned hundreds of pens and there are hundreds still for me to turn. I have taken classes to improve my turning skills and along with a lot of practice, I am now turning a variety of gift items.
My background is in the technology field which I love, but woodworking is a passion. Everyone should have a passion! I found mine!
