My real name is Peter. The Rhoots thing is a moniker my grand-kids gave me some years ago and it sort of stuck.
I've been a non-professional woodworker for over 50 years (started about the age of 10) and started to dabble in the art of lutherie about 5 years ago. I retired in 2020 after 38 years in the aerospace industry as a Mechanical Designer and have since been spending much of my time designing and building stringed instruments.
I play the Ukulele at a novice level and I've been taking Mandolin lessons since 2018. To call myself a musician would be a stretch, but I do have fun with it.
All my instruments are one-off built. I have no production line and I create custom tooling as needed.
