Thanks..... On the small one I tapered them with a combination of power hammer, anvil and then sanders (flap disc and stationary belt sander). On the large one I just used the sander as I thought I would see if they looked better without so many tool markes. 

Thanks! I've worked copper, but iron is a bit above my paygrade. Also, that rock on the right makes me think of brain coral.
