It was not a commission nor was it specifically for our home. I did the marquetry to see if I could pull off the lettering and when I had cut it I had four copies and needed to put them on something. ……… so I made a tray. You can see another copy on my sharpening tool box here.

This didn’t take that long. The marquetry part gets divided by four because I cut four-up. The tray took a few hours. It’s really hard to say because I don’t often keep track but I’d say the marquetry took about fifteen hours and the tray another ten. …… really just guessing.
