the whole boat was a work of love by an older man that built it to a traditional plan. The paint job on the boat cost him nearly £10,000.00 This included the striped pole which is cool but I’m not certain if any bargeman would have bothered back in the day, although it would make it easy to spot if it fell overboard. The aft cabin is done in the combed paint that looks like wood grain and the exterior is a wonderland of reds and greens and yellows and blues.
Sadly all the money went to the hull, the paint job and the drive train so the interior needs a lot of work. We’re working on it. Far too much paneled plywood. The dinette/bed broke. It was 1/4" ply with a 1/2" trim of oak nailed to it. I’m amazed it lasted at all. Nails in the edge of ply…go figure.
I’ve got a good plan for it’s replacement. Stay tuned.
