I love all your storage ideas.  I especially like your ceiling lumber storage with the boards on edge so you don't have to lift the stack to get the board you want.
Here's how I store small amounts of hardware in baby food containers.

The following idea came from This Old House magazine about 25 years ago.  At the time I thought it was brilliant, except that it used glass jars.  I was smarter than that and saved plastic ones until I had enough to make it.

I never posted it because it's not as brilliant as it looks.  First of all, I'm short so I have to use a step ladder to reach it.  Second, if all the jars aren't weighted similarly, it swings around while trying to unscrew the jar I want.
