Slappin aside, aint it wonderful? Being able to make what would cost a purty penny elsewhere? 

Half of what I love about turned mallets is, they make my shop look purty, even if I don't use them.

I made about ten from sycamore. Comically, been using them for years, with great success, even though "experts" explained to me sycamore was too soft for mallets.
