Mallets

A simple woodturning project. The hornbeam I had lying around had a lot of cracks in it, so I made them from ash. I can accept a dent here and there, One is made for myself and one for my newpeh.  He doesn't have it yet, but if he reads this before he gets it he will already know.

Left or right handed?

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

They look great Jan - I'm sure they will last a long time.
Good looking mallets! Great job:)

No name noobie here

Bashers and mashers! Nice looking tools and made for a purpose!
Thanks to all.

Tony I'm glad with my new tool.

LBD. It depends on where you are.

Now they're both right handed,

though you may struggle on your left handed lathe.

Hell, this left vs. right is nearly as bad as metric vs. imperial.

Very nice Jan, I never understand why some mallets are round when most people have trouble hitting objects with implements that have a flat face/side.
Sumbuddy slap the duck. He knows well these are for quadriplegics.
Slappin aside, aint it wonderful? Being able to make what would cost a purty penny elsewhere?

Half of what I love about turned mallets is, they make my shop look purty, even if I don't use them.

I made about ten from sycamore. Comically, been using them for years, with great success, even though "experts" explained to me sycamore was too soft for mallets.

Most people only have two hands... please don't slap, but a spanking, hmm...

A good opportunity to take up juggling. Let's one ponder things while entertaining!
