re: How I built a Deadman that fits almost any workbench

Ducky: I thought about putting in a threaded insert screw but I couldn’t find one to fit the Harbor Freight F clamp screw I used. The clamp would no longer tighten. The handle slipped on the screw and wouldn’t get tight. 
I just threaded the screw through the wood. The wood is hard 3,330 on the janka scale and I don’t need a lot of clamping pressure to do what it needs to do. 
The thread width is 9.59mm.  Here’s some photos or the old handle and the type of clamp the thread came from.
