Thanks OldTool. I did use Tite Bond III. It was installed in a bathroom with a shower. 

When you use this technique you do have to wait until the glue gets tacky. It’s easier to move it and get the veneer in the right place. 
And it’s hard to move it once you set it in place. When I applied the iron on its highest setting the glue gets soft and sticks to the substrate. 

I made my own veneer at the band saw. It’s thicker than the store bought type and doesn’t bow or wrinkle. 

This was a wall mount cabinet and I couldn’t find 1/2” QSWO so I had to use veneer. Here’s a video I used to learn this technique. 


Instead of using a paper bag I used parchment paper.
