YRTi and Splinter I saw you two mention Red Oak. The old cabinets were made of solid red oak frames and the doors were raised panels in the cathedral style.
I removed the old doors and drawers, sanded and stained the frames. I recycled as much wood from the old doors and drawers as I could and rebuild them in the Arts and Crafts style. I had some leftover oak and used some of it for the laundry bench. And that’s why my friends the laundry bench is made from red oak. And it was a lot cheaper than QSWO. YRTi. Some of the accessories like this frame the mantle clock and the mirror frame are made from QSWO.
