Are you going to make a sled with a double bottom and adjustable fence ?
What materials are you going to use for the fences ?

Yes the double fence, birch. I have a slightly different design in mind but essentially the same. All the materials shown are birch except the bottom piece of 3/4" birch plywood.

Instead of double bottom, it will have double walled fence. It will be explained better once I sit down and actually draw it out. I’ll try to answer as much as I can but without pics or drawings yet it’s hard for a dyslexic old fart like me to get the words down sometimes.

I have changed the layout slightly, and I will be including a double bottom. I will also be including a double fence but it will not have an anchored fulcrum. Instead it will have 4 spring loaded adjustable knobs. I am waiting on “T” tracks to arrive that will be routered in for the 45 deg framing feature. And a piece of track for the top of the fence that will hold a sliding clamp and stops all from Lee Valley. For now here’s some updated pics of the overall layout. The top piece of the floating bottom is in small pieces of 1/2" ply right now but it will be almost the same size of the 3/4" bottom, just 1/4" shorter to allow for adjustment knobs to move the fence/bottom to float.

Quite the sled. What is the table surface area you have on your table saw? I noticed some of the shop have a HUGH surface area to play with. Something like this sled would dwarf my table saw. Very nice though, excellent job.

My table saw has a cast iron portion in the middle the size of the base, then heavy gauge sheet metal wings next to each side, and, on the right side a plywood drop in to extend the overall cut widt to allow for a 30" cut to the right of the blade and 16" to the left. The saw height is the same as everything in the shop, ie, production table, Roubo bench, window counter top bench, and, motorized miter saw bench with all the power tools under it.
