I’m slowly starting to get a decent bit of kit together and with many thanks to Jack I now have these little beauties to add to it ?
They’ve given me the motivation to try out some relief carving that I will blog about separately.
I also found this little carving tool underneath the stairs today
It may have been forgotten and seen better days but I will have a go at cleaning it up and restoring it to it’s former glory.
As you may be able to tell by now I’m not fussy about the condition of the tools I come across as they teach me a great deal and have a certain kind of quirkiness that you just wouldn’t find in a shop. Perhaps also it’s because I can’t afford to be fussy and my whole mend and make do attitude reflects that. Either way my toolkit may have some interesting stories to tell!

That’s the way to learn things, give it a try and see how it goes.

I’ve literally been jumping in the deep end and just going for it. There’s no point worrying too much about doing it wrong as nothing will get done and at least you can learn from mistakes
