Gramercy Bow Saw build

This was posted a while ago on another site, but in that time I’ve used the saw quite a bit. It’s solid and easy to use once you understand how a bow saw cuts. Well worth building your own if it’s a saw you need!

This was a fun project. Built from scarp sapele after another project, Gramercy's layout sheets were spot on and it was easy to template the pieces. Lots of hand shaping. I turned the handle on the lathe and finished with danish oil and paste wax. I bought their kit and blades. It all came together nicely and cuts really well! I'm excited to ad the tool to the shop.

nice work ryan,a good friend of mine on that "other" forum made me one recently. very cool bud.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

You’ve got to hold it properly and understand it only turns when actively cutting through wood, so there’s a small learning curve, but it’s easy. I recommend it, especially because they sell it as a kit so it’s pretty easy as a project.
