Trestle Dining Table

I made this trestle table from black walnut. The only other species is a bit of bloodwood for the wedges between the stretcher and the legs. I bought the walnut from a closing cabinet shop over 12 years ago. It was great to work with. The table top is about 82" by 31". The finish is Danish Oil and polyurethane.

I got the urge to make this table a few days before Christmas. Since my shop is unheated, there was a lot of bringing stuff in and out of the house. The cat took ownership of the new furniture early on:

This last photo shows the table along with surrounding pine and cherry pieces that I have made over the years:

Thanks pottz.

This table has been through a few seasonal changes.  It sits in a large kitchen containing a wood stove.  The breadboard ends have done their job well with the seasonal movement of the top.  I've done some measurement and the rule-of-thumb that I use (1/8" change over 18") is verified.
