So my dad has an old dustpan, made from some sheet metal. It’s a handmade job, very old, and he’s had it for many years. I always thought that I wanted one like it. So today, when I went to clean out my shop and looked at the shavings to pick up, I immediately fixated on the limitation of my current dustpan. It has a top to it that keeps me from using over half the pan! Too goofy…
It was time to do some metalwork. Started by cutting up a scrap TV tray.
Cut some pine for the spar, and did some bendiing at the bench.
Set a notch in the spar, cut and shaped a simple handle.
A few nails, and Bob’s Your Uncle!
Final product at work in the main Project pic. Now I have a more functional shop appliance! As always, thx for looking!

Very well fitting for a shop, nothing like having a good dustpan, and the metal allows everything to entre. like the aligator paint on the pine, makes it look old too.
