Drillpress table

There are a lot of drillpress tables here on LJ, and everyone has their own ideas. The last few weeks I've been updating some shop stuff and this is one of them. In itself I think it is also fine to work with the default table and I put it off for a long time. Till now. A few things were important to me. Dust extraction, be able to drill correctly perpendicular especially the axes and clamping. As an extra I bought the Wixey WL 133 laser liner.

Maybe others will benefit from my contribution and that's why I posted it.

Lots of work and thought went into that. Well done.

Main Street to the Mountains

Well thought out!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

thats a great table dutchy.i need to something like this with a fence that has dust collection.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

That is the Swiss Army Knife of drill presses Dutchy.  Many great and innovative features.

Do you have a way of extending the lifter outside the tabletop... any thoughts on mechanising it (drill lifter maybe).

What you got against,

POMs?  B_UK might get upset.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Thank you Dutchy for showing this and all the great ideas.  I really liked your table clamps and can you mention the source?  The idea for the pinion rack lock is great.  I am not to certain about the aluminum on the top as it can leave marks in my experience.

I will be incorporating some of your ideas on my drill press.

You are wright. Again I would not have done it the way I did with the untreated aluminium.

Nice work on the table. That is the first steel drill press table that I have seen that did not come with a hole in the center!
