Cheese Cutters

I made these a few months ago in preparation for Xmas. My Wife gave all of them away by early November so I had to make some more which I am just now completing.  They are segmented from Ash, Walnut and Cherry.  The Hardware is from Woodcraft.  I have now streamlined and simplified the process somewhat.  The hole to accommodate the hardware was done on my DP with a jig and the piece had to be on end, even with clamping it was difficult to be exact....I was rummaging through some old tools and found a "Dowel-it" jig and that is perfect for that task.  Finish on these is Howards Food Safe finish....it is now Tung oil, which has proven to last 3 times as long.

Very nice designs. You've been very busy.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Great looking boards Mike, good pattern with the choice of woods. Well Done.

As I was drafting a comment of where's the pictures of the jig???, that Dowel-it made me realise I had another type of probably similar jig hidden somewhere that I could use on a project I'm currently arguing with... problem is I'll have to find some local Yankee soil to use it on, as it is in imperial.

Oh yeah... nice project!

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Those are nice Mike.
Great wood selection, and I like the proportions of all the different pieces.

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

I always liked puzzles....and that is what god made the drum sander for....or sometimes it might have been the other guy, too....
