Ford Hot Rod "C" Cab T-Bucket

As many know I'm a Ford and a Hot Rod fan.
While researching and building the "C" Cab delivery van I came across some magnificent hot rods and this one caught my eye!

 Could I build something similar

And so the journey began with lots of internet pictures of vehicles, bodies, engines and scaling.

First was working out the percentage ratio between the front and rear of the chassis, approx 85%.

The shaping/design for the C Cab and it's roof and rear door.

Next was how to represent a 390CI Blown Ford Big Block, more research.

The cab cockpit had to be special to suit a show car too.

Overall we have 16" [400mm] long, 8.25" [210mm] wide, 6.25" [160mm] high.

 The sides are Spotted Gum
 The roof is American Oak
The rear door is Tallow Wood
 The cockpit is Blackheart Sassafras
 The radiator is Merbau
The front chassis rails are Red Gum
 The firewall is Cyprus Pine
The engine is Red Gum, tallow Wood, along with a few others.
The wheels are Tallow Wood rear & Merbau front.
The chassis is Merbau and Tallow Wood.
The button steering wheel is on a bamboo skewer as is the bead gear shifter.

Shop bought axle pegs, headlights and tail lights.

The Peterbilt number plate, the Ford Logo radiator badge and V8 Ford badge are all lapel pins.

PLUS thank you again to Alex [aka LBD] for the beaut laser cut Ford Logos.

Some 40plus hours later I have built a Ford Hot Rod "C" Cab T-Bucket with ZOMBIE PIPES.

The finish is 3 coats of my home-made Wipe-On-Poly.

A good fun project that I've have never attempted 5 years ago but the inspiration, support and encourage from the folk on Woodwork Forums [Australia] and the old LJ’s members on Craftisian has given me the confidence to HAVE A GO, thank you.
