I started making these snowmen about two weeks ago. ( I made 8 in total) I will make more for next year for family.
One person wanted something "special", so I made her the storage box to keep the snowman in.
The snowman is painted redwood, left over 4x4 from a deck I built up north. The snowman is about 7" tall and 3" round at the belly. The arms are 14 gauge copper wire unbraided and painted black.
The box is Sapele lid is walnut. The lid is press fit. People struggle with how to put the lid back on, so I added two brass rod pieces to "index" how the lid goes on.
I used a dremel to carve out the Kaisan foam. This worked pretty well if you take your time.
Finish if General Finish satin poly.
