Looks like you have the hang of it Tony, Well Done.

Main Street to the Mountains

a good start my friend but youve over turned or sanded a little too much. you want to make sure your turning matches the pen parts. yours look a little skinny bud. thats ok, it's how you learn. next one leave it a little fat to allow for the final sanding. keep at it and you'll be a pen making machine before you know it !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Looking fine Tony!
Great depth with that wood finish.
Fine looking pen.    Use it to order all the new tools you want.    Well why not?

Ha! This coming form Pottz 🤣

Tony, I did the same thing on my first pen. I turned it right down to the bushings and then when I sanded it I ended up undersized. Now I leave everything just a little proud and finish it up with the sanding. I’m not good enough on the lathe to be perfect the first go ‘round. I think of it as I’m turning the blank to rough shape then finishing the shaping with my sanding. The finish looks nice! Well done!

Keebs congrats on the CNC! What a great addition!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
