Apple or cherry wood bowl

This is a tree that was being taken down at work. To me it looks like a type of cherry or apple. Maybe someone can tell me?

I really love the contrast of the light and dark in this. It was really fun to turn.

It is finished with general finishes bowl finish.

Thanks Pottz. I am going through my pictures trying to get some projects posted here.
That looks great, I like the way the branches pop through in the bowl. Well done.

Thank you Eric. I also like that about this. As soon as I saw this on the site I knew I wanted it.
I would say it is not cherry (the bark is not right). I would rule out apple because of the color and heavy sapwood. I have a lot of apple wood in my stash and it doesn't have a sap layer like that. My best guess is plum, prune, or apricot.  Regardless all those woods are great for turning as you bowl shows.
Les do you think could it be crabapple?
Very nice! I have no idea what the tree is…I’m terrible with that…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Beautiful.  I agree with Les.  it does not look like Cherry or apple.
Interesting bowl.    Nice looking and bet it was a fun project.   nice work

The wood I have from a plum tree is very light - almost white. Other plum trees might have more color. If someone told me that was apricot - I would believe them. Whatever the wood is, that is a nice bowl!
A good ye and a lot of skilled work made for a Beautiful Bowl. Really nice I like it Buck.
