Hello all.
Here’s some oak and black walnut bedside cabinets made from oak and… Black walnut.
The customer wanted some cabinets to match her old decor and she had some original drawers that she wanted to keep and use in these cabinets.
So everything is my work except from the drawers.
I used a dark oak stain to darken the colour of the top wood but wasn’t happy as the end grain sucked in a lot more stain than the face surfaces making the edges of the top a lot darker :(
There we go, another lesson learnt.
The legs and leg frame are dark walnut (my favourite).

Great work. They do look like older pieces. I am making a pair at the moment as well, but I’m not going to post pics until completed as they have concealed drawers and I would rather not give any secrets away on the customer.
