Loudspeaker Dieter Rams tribute

This is another project that i have transfered from "the other site", this one built in 2014:

For my summer house i wanted a small and elegant loudspeaker to use with the computer or smartphone. I wanted a modern, simple and sharp look with a warm feel to it. Looked around a lot for inspiration and kept being drawn to the simplicity and claryty og Dieter Rams and his work for Braun i Germany.

I do not have a TV so use my laptop to see movies etc. The distance between the loudspeakers is so that a 15" laptop fits in between and gives a much richer experience than the tiny speakers in the laptop.

Used recycled, ebonized oak for the frame and beech for the buttons and feet. Built in amplifier. Was a little afraid that solid wood would give unwanted wibrations but it has a surprizingly open and detalied sound.

Read my blog about how i made it for more details

Let me know what you think!

What a great improvement over the original cubes.    I like the clean lines.  It looks like it sounds good.  😀
Nice project that looks great, well done.

Main Street to the Mountains

Looks great! Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thank you gentlemen, glad you like the project. A few more from the archive and I´ll begin showing newer stuff
