Bearded Dragon enclosure

No piece of fine furniture here. Well my daughter wanted a reptile and ended coming home with a bearded dragon. They need more space than a usual fish tank. After looking at the options out there I came up with this design. It’s 42” long 24” high and 24” wide. It has 2 sliding front doors and a hinged top with screen and plexiglass. The front corners are lock miters. It’s Red Oak and plywood for the base and back.

man that dragon is living large ! love the tiny arm chair and hammock 😎

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Looks like it will be a fine home for a "Dragon" unless it breathes fire.

Nice little home for the cute little guy, what else could he want. Well done.

Main Street to the Mountains

Super comfy!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Yeah she has it pretty good. She's more expensive than the dog. .Thanks for taking a look.
Nice!  Did you build the "furniture" too?  Does the dragon like the hammock?
Was you wearing an eye patch when you made that.   hahaha

It looks good.  I like reptiles (all of them) but especially the lizard kind.  Been trying to get the wife to let me have one.
(But nothing in specific at the moment)
When I got to the last picture I was anxiously looking to see your dragon and then saw the living room and cracked up.
Very cool enclosure.

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

The little couch my daughter just had to get it when she saw it. The dragon doesn't go on the hammock or the couch.
Bently the bearded dragons are cool pets. You might have a chance to get your wife to like one if she met one. Their diet you would have to keep a secret or you would have no chance at all to get one.
wow! the dragon has a better living space than I! haha, good job:)

No name noobie here

Way to go Dad! Nice lookin’ accommodations for the newest family member….and the furnishings are a hoot! I applaud your daughter’s sense of interior design. Add a widescreen and a fully stocked bar and I’d happily settle in. I’d pass on the crickets though. ; )
I can imagine creating that for your daughter gave you a lot of pleasure.

If I didn’t laugh at myself, I’d lose my mind.

Thanks for the comments.
Crickets aren't the preferred insect. She gets Dubia Roaches.
Wow! Imported roaches. Sophisticated.

They don't come from too far. They come from Kansas
Most of mine come from the neighbors yard, so Kansas wild still be ‘imported’ to me 😂

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Yeah, they do a pretty good job at that.

Where does Kalessee stay?
I mean seriously....what good is a dragon without a hot blonde to ride it?

Mike

That’s what the overstuffed chair and hammock are for!

I like it. Lots of room. My son had one and in the summer I would catch giant grass hoppers and the lizard would go crazy going after it and would eat it’s legs first like a chicken leg.

Maybe you could get a mate for it.

Sadly he was cleaning the cage and let the dragon out in the backyard and it was never seen again. 8^{
