This is a model I built using a pattern from Wood Magazine. It was a pretty simple model note the first picture with the plans document laying in front of the speedster. But as I built it I kept modifying things from the plans. I made every piece. The wheels are all turned on the lathe the black outer part is blackened oak, the white walls are maple, the rims, spokes and hubs a white rose wood, each piece for all four wheel turned separately for each wheel. Lenses for tail lights , head lights , side mirrors all turned and fitted separately. Anyway it was a lot of fun, lots of trial and error.. I am very proud of how it turned out and one of the few projects I have been offered some pretty serious money for, well in my opinion serious, I did not build to sale. The boot at the base of the floor shifter is even off centered turned, something I have never tried before. I realize it is not up to some standards here, I did not include engine , running gear, etc., but for a first model well I am proud of it. Seats are camphor wood, oh I love the smell of working with it.
