Rough Old PLatter

This was made from a Rough Cut Off from another Project.  Unfortunately I forgot to take a Picture of the off cut.  It was very rough looking and almost went into the Bin.  But something about it made me have second thoughts.
The offcut was big enough to be side grain turned.  The blotches and rough surface appealed to me.  So I thought it might turn out ok.
The Diameter is just under 8 inches and about 2 inches deep.
It is finished with EEE Shine Friction Polish and Buffed with Restorers Choice Wax, a local product.
Kind regards......Cliff
Beautiful color!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

It is indeed

Is that a pottzy lower case indeed,  I always thought it was Ryan. ... must have been your father's choice... as in "in the deed"?

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Looks great Cliff, like the live edge.

Eric,

Thank you.  Just goes to show,  offcuts are sometimes quite nice to work with.  I was surprised at the hidden beauty in the wood.
Regards......Cliff.
Great looking, I may have missed it but what species of wood might this be. Great job !!!   Mike
