Ceramic Tile Test Grid

Based on the excellent information provided by Spintergroup and others, I decided to try engraving on a ceramic tile.

Ortur LM3 10 watt

The tile was not pure white and had an off white color.
80 ml Alcohol
10 gems TiO2
Mixed in small spray bottle with BBs inside to stir.

The slower speed resulted in actual etching of the glaze.  Lower power with higher speed worked better.

I am excited to do more with this and have a stack of left over tiles to use.

Thanks to all who have posted on this subject.
Nice! Bring on the projects!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Good test run!

Looks like your fast speed/lowest power zone gives a good surface black. The bottom row where you've burned past the top glaze layer and have a depression is great for fill with paint if black isn't the color you want.
