Gift Tray (garden tray?)

We decided to send my sister and bil (who live in FL) a gift box of food stuffs that originated in TN( think Moonpies, Dr Enuf, Mountain Dew, GooGoo Clusters,Bush’s Baked Beans  Little Debbie snacks, Jack Daniel’s and local Moonshine.). Of course that required building a box. Wanting to make it something they could use after emptying the goodies, it was built so she could use it when gather produce from their garden.

Made of pine. After laying the goodies in a box I needed a nine inch width so I resawed a common 2 x 10 for the bottom. despite the chill in the shop, I heated up pretty quick.

Box joint corners. glued up.

Engraved the bottom and attached with dowels ( ok skewers)

Included a cutout of TN engraved with the companies and origin date for items sent.

real cool dan. so how did you do the engraving, laser, cnc ?

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Thanks Pottz. I engraved it on the laser.
Nice project!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

I may be a tad biased, watching all these laser jobs creep into the site...

Did you use the Jap saw for the fingers?

I understand Jack Daniels and lust after the Moonshine, but
..... Moonpies, Dr Enuf, Mountain Dew, GooGoo Clusters,Bush’s Baked Beans  Little Debbie snacks,... Moonshine
are just gobbledygook to us foreigners...  hope Chinese imports haven't invaded Yankee-speak.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Sweet tray Dan, like the use of the plank for the sides!

Some array of included goodies, the beans might make a mess unless they were scraped off into the corner, but the moonshine is a real Tennessee treat!
