Lingerie Drying Rack

We saw this in a high end home goods store and the wife liked it - except for the price tag.   As usual, I said "I can do that, hold my beer."

Working out the dimensions took a bit of doing, but was not difficult.   The store's description gave overall dimensions and I scaled the rest.
The frame is poplar with a beadboard back.  Just for the exercise I used mortise and tenon joinery throughout, no nails or screws.

I used oil-based enamel to increase moisture resistance.  The folding rack is secured in the folded position by magnets.  The most difficult part was finding the nylon straps that hold the rack in the open position.

I made up several of these for our retirement community's arts and crafts show. Its one thing I can think of that is (a) unusual, (b) useful.

Nice work. I love projects like this that are useful and attractive and take up little space.
Nice! I'm guessing they were popular at the show.
