Computer Pedestal

Yeah I put my computer up on a pedestal.  Actually, I have for a long time.  Check out my first one from years ago when I first started my woodworking journey, haha.  MDF, split from screws with no pre-drilling, nothing quite lines up, runs in the paint, saw marks everywhere.

I think I've come a long ways!

I actually made this for a reason.  I needed the computer case to sit to the right about 1/4" because the top of my computer tower was hitting a support on the underside of my desk, which made it lean to the side a bit.  This new one fixes that by overhanging the desk feet a little... and looks a heck of a lot better too.

The project started with a 9-inch resaw on my bandsaw.  I had some 1-1/8" stock I cut into two 1/2" boards.  Gotta be happy with that on a Grizzly 14" saw!

I added ventilation holes in the sides for the external hard drive that lives down there, and threw on a few corbels for fun.  I found the feet in my stash of extra parts from various furniture items over the years.  I had some matching T-nuts I drilled and glued into the underside of the box for them - they can be screwed in or out to adjust height or level.

I like it.  Maybe it will inspire some others.  C&C always welcome :)
Really nice looking finish on a good project, all super.

yeah id say you upgraded that pretty well. nice pedestal.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Looks very useful! Those doo-dad boxes tend to multiply and really need a space to be contained.
Leaves you with a useful storage for drives, and other tender bits, and they have good airflow. Looks like it would work fine, and look good. Certainly finer work than the first version.
Nicely done

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
