Mini sketch pencil

For the 2024 Spring Surprise Swap, I sent Dutchy a faux book, a circle cutter, and this sketch pencil, based on the Penn State kit. The orange was one of the blanks I got in a grab bag from them, matching the orange leather on the book and the national color of the Netherlands.

May you have the day you deserve!

Nice pencil, color compliments the design well.

I do not normally like the turned resin pens but this one really stands out.

Love the pattern Dave, is that a 2mm?
Pretty much matches the book, nice color again. A really nice set  Dave.
Very glad with this nice pencil. Even though it is beautiful, I will use it in the workshop. Because for me that's where it belongs and where it is used. Also glad it is metric, 3mm lead. That is better than 1/8 isn't it 😉.

Well technically 1/8" is better (bigger) by about 0.007" (sorry, 0.375mm!) 🤠

Of course graphite would be preferable to lead but it just doesn't have that same metallic "twang" when chewing on it.

All my drafting pencils are 2mm which I really like for shop work since the lead doesn't break constantly when marking up a board. 3mm would be even better!
Yeah, 3mm, Splint. Glad you like it, Jan!

My initial though when picking the color was “that’ll be hard to lose in sawdust” but then I realized that orange had more meaning to the Dutch.

Thanks!

Nice blank Dave.  I love the colors.
What a nice pencil! The color and the lead size are perfect!
The color is the LavaBright orange and black from Penn State.

Great shop pencil! The thicker lead makes a great difference.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
