We have a place we dearly love, but the "living room/family room is kinda tight. That looks like a deal to add a sofa table that could get out of the way if seating was needed, but be ready to serve a person or 2 sitting on either side of it on the couch.

IOW I plan to swipe this design. :-)

Neat idea MrR...

Some construction tips (eg. Domino/M&T/dowels etc...) might be a tad informative for plagiarists. Is it on wheels?...

Is that middle part a removable "plug" so you can lift it, sweep the scraps off the table through the "hole", and put it back leaving a clean table?

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

ive thought about making one but the coach we have now is too low to the floor to slide it under. nice work on this.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment,somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

George..... the convenience you Mentone is exactly why I made it. Go for it!
LittleBlackDuck...... it's dowel jointed with trusses for strength, no wheels, no plug. There's a reveal on top to match our other furniture.
Pottz....I made one for my daughter and her couch is only an inch or so of the floor.

These are a classic "form meets function" product. Your build look excellent 👍

I can see a secondary benefit. During family gatherings, it could help keep that Uncle that no one really knows from sidling up to the ladies sitting on the couch! 🤠

I’ve always liked that style ‘sofa’ table. Seems like it would be very utile. And that one looks awesome!
