Boat build

Italian mahogany runabout.  Mostly kit build but substituted my own mahogany strips for some of it.  Took about three months to build.  These are challenge to get right and take a lot of time but that's what's fun.
Thanks for looking!

A real beauty Tim!

Never had much of anything to do with boats so I'm wondering if the basic construction of your model is similar to a full size build, just scaled down?

Always amazed they could even be built, just like fancy chairs, not a square angle or flat board to be found 🤔
It's close to the actual construction, I read a book on wooden boat construction before starting.  It's typical double planked over frame construction.  I have built several of these over the years.

Cool looking boat, interesting display, boat in an aquarium.

Certainly looks good... did all those "blings" (and blue padding) come with the kit?

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

That is beautiful

The level of detail is just amazing.  Wow!
Beautiful.  It reminds me of an old barrel back ChrisCraft that our neighbor had when I was a kid.  I was always envious of that boat.
Beautiful.

It’s a Riva, right?
Riva was inspired by Chris-Craft.
Nice work on it. Built like a real one!!
