Marquetry by my 10 yr old granddaughter

The marquetry was cut by my 10 yr old granddaughter after some instructions.   She did fine.  I finished by making the box and frame.  She really had fun and is very proud of the result.

Tim0001....that is great for her.  I am thinking of trying some marquetry probably with a laser.  Where is a reasonable place to buy veneer?  Thanks
Tim used poplar which dyes well and if you keep to the same wood (thickness) you can sand (or not) since it'll all be level already and you can keep painted or dyed pieces brightly colored like the beauts Tim shows.

For veneer sources, you can get packs of good sizes for marquetry from the big mail-order woodworking outfits or find others.

I have bought a few marquetry packs from veneeringSupplies that were excellent for variety (50 sq-ft).
