Goat Milking Station

New addition required a milking station,  Much easier apparently if the goat is off the ground.   There are plenty of plans and ideas on you tube.   This is made from douglas fir and wood screws.  The goat's head is secured as shown and given a treat to keep her calm.

GOT "GOAT" MILK !!!!

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

If it works and the goat is happy then this is brilliant. :-)

We had a neighbor long ago who bought some goats for the express desire of getting fresh goat Milk. It never did work out. From what I learned from them back then Goats unlike most Cows aren't wild about being milked. I know for certain that they tried it squatting right alongside them while they were standing on the ground, so maybe they didn't read about one of these stations? I never saw anything like this over there anyhow.
I like the apple more, but anyway well done.

Seems like the goat is okay with it so that's a win!

But - the question is:

Is this station the GOAT?
Makes me think of the French Revolution, hopefully the goat never ate any history books 🤠

I always have known that if you want to find simple designs that work, visit a farm. Farmers aren't lazy, they are just about getting the job done right, done once, and getting back to the rest of the days work.
That’s a very cool and smart design. You look like a very smart person Albert.
Splint, you got that right about Farmers, KISS all the way, and they do get er dun...

Of course if you ever spent any time on a mind numbing tractor ride, planting, cultivating, or harvesting, you have hours to contemplate the issues that plague you. Attention span is keep that front right wheel in that rut you just made. Or left, kinda depends on how you are wired. :-)
I see those old film clips of farmers in the field on their tractors eating dust. Now-a-days the big operations have the air conditioned cabs with GPS and self-guided attachments, etc. Of course instead of the back 40, they do a few township/range blocks.

The neighbor had about 4 acres he had a guy come in and level. GPS control of the blade and all he did was drive around in circles. I could be down with that!
That's pretty cool. No more sitting on that little stool and bending over!!
