Not all projects are pretty

I started with 2x12 rough cut lumber.  Ripped it with my circular saw to make the pieces.  Now that the hoe is on a cart with casters, I can roll it to storage place in the garage.  Not pretty, huh?

I think it is a beauty! (at least until the first paint scuff and hydraulic leak) 🤠
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm guessing it is gorgeous when you're moving things around!
my kinda big boy toy !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

A beauty because it works!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Just what is it? Obviously not a garden hoe

Hi Rob, it's the backhoe off the Massey Ferguson.  The cart is an effort to store the backhoe out of the road.

Blaster, I have no idea which model hoe attachment this is, but I'm pretty certain it's over a ton possibly over 2 tons in weight if it's a bigger unit. To make a dolly so you can move it around, is kind of a big deal. Might not be pretty, but it's a thing of beauty in other ways. Nice build.
Blaster,

You win the best toy award!

George good to see you here again.

Hi Geoge,  It's not that big of an attachment.  It is from a small 25 HP tractor and the backhoe only weighs 223 kg.  I think that is real close to 500 Lbs.

Guys, thanks for the kind comments on my little dolly project.  The hoe was part of a package deal or I might not have elected to get it.  If I don't have a dolly for it then the outriggers have to be down and that takes up way too much shop space and they are a tripping hazard.  With the dolly under it, I can raise the outriggers up and pin them.  Much smaller footprint that way.

Gotta love good yard tools.
Thanks the  Massey Ferguson brings back memories, if  its a small grey tractor I remember my Dad having one

Regards Rob

The tractor is a little Massey Ferguson GC1725MB model.  Here is a picture of it :

"Necessity is the mother of invention".   I really like these kind of things.   We have a "Mantis" roto tiller, for small gardens, flower beds, etc...it works great.  We got a thatcher tine option when we bought it, it work well except, if anyone knows anything about a Mantis tiller, it works differently, you have to pull it.  We made a hitch setup on the Mantis so we could pull it behind our riding lawn mower to thatch the yard.  It works really great, saves the lower back.  I'll have to post a pic.
